2005-07-11 [Whim]: They made a lot of mistakes, but the biggest one was making a console that doesn’t play DVDs, never utilized online play, and has no backwards compatibility. Sony had all three of those and xbox has two of them. If they leave important things like that behind this time, they will fail worse than before. The only thing that saved gamecube was the low price tag.

Most of the good games are or will be on the computer, it has a removable harddrive like a computer, it goes online like a computer--it’s just so much like a computer that I’m sure you could probably run windows on it if you know what you’re doing.
2005-07-11 [Whim]: Of course, PS3 is looking close to a computer too, but not quite as much and the games will almost definitely be PS3 exclusives. So I wonder if it would just be better to invest money into the computer instead of a 360.

2005-07-11 [Whim]: Well, I personally prefer controllers over keyboards in most situations, which is the big plus with consoles, but you can get controllers for PCs too. So these days, if you know how to set it up, you can turn your PC into a very nice console. The only other drawback is that most PC games don’t allow for multiplayer gameplay on one single computer.

Computers are different as I can control (or so I tell myself) a c omputer without managing to slice my own combat friend in half by complete and utter mistake.

2005-07-12 [Whim]: Also there’s the topic of consoles becoming more and more like PCs. Consoles are less expensive than PCs. With the right hacks--which are easy to get, by the way--you can make a console run windows these days. So it wouldn’t be that bad to consider buying a console instead of a PC since the consoles have all the network and USB connections you need as well.

The only problem is getting an operating system into the console that you can use instead of the PS or Xbox operating system.

There should be articles that include interviews with actual EP members. The EPI could grab so much attention if they covered things like contests, bannings, demotions and promotions within the guards and council, and even the little things that stir up random bits of attention.
2005-07-26 [iCh3wi]: You know what would be so cool! If we had a section that listed members who were banned and the reason why. That would stop a lot of rumors and rational people I'm here to tell you. And as for the promotions and demotions, that would be great. I'm not saying I agree with some people, but I have heard I don't know how many people complain about a few of the council members and guards about not taking their jobs serious and other things. More action towards that would be wonderful also.
2005-07-26 [Whim]: Well, why not cover those cases? I wouldn't go so far as to insult a bad council or guard member, but for the EPI to show both sides of the stories would be a great service to the community. Have people interview the guards, council members, wardens, random EP members, etc.
